We just finished up our fund raiser with Starlight Starbright in Folsom. MUCH thanks to Kari, Karen and Kristin. The fabulous owners of the best children's clothing and furnishings store in the area.

Between the Fall and Santa sessions, K. Walker Photography will be donating enough funds to repair 15 children's cleft palettes. Isn't that amazing?

To all of the families who participated in these sessions, Thank you for allowing us to capture this important time in your child's life. $25.00 from your session is being donated to Operation Smile.

A big THANK YOU to Ed Tanner, Ed donated one day of time to be a Santa, and to Tom Llindhoff, our Saturday Santa. And of course lets not forget those elves who helped make the children smile, Kate,Maddie and Anna.

Can I tell you how much I love this digital world of photography?

When I opened my studio 15 years ago, I kept reading about how photography and computers would be like a marriage made in heaven. I was doubtful........

In 2002 I purchased my first digital camera and have never looked back. The photographic world has been rocked by amazing developments between cameras and computers.

Matthew and I stay on the cutting edge by attending seminars and classes. As we go into 2008 we will be introducing new ideas for portrait presentation, like fabulous gallery wraps with your child's first words imprinted along the borders of the print. Or how about a gallery wrap with your families names and birth dates. What a fantastic way to create a family heirloom to treasure for years to come!

In our High School Senior sessions ( Studio 17) look for new designs in wallet prints and Wall posters that feature multi images.

I think I am most excited about our new coffee table albums that are perfect for baby and wedding albums. I just designed our first wedding album and the bride and groom simply loved it.

I had to do a little product shopping and testing before I found the perfect book. We wanted the images to be printed on actual portrait paper and then bound to heavy card stock. The outside binding and book cover needed to be high quality, attractive yet long lasting. We found all of that in the album we selected and more! These beautiful albums are available in many sizes with linen and leather covers.

Another great way to preserve that first year of your baby or that very special wedding day is a DVD with 50 or your favorite images set to music and motion. They make great gifts for parents and grandparents.

Our First Blog

Welcome to our first blog. It comes along with our beautiful new website!
A big hand of applause to Matt Walker, our computer expert and fantastic new photographer! It could not have happened without him. Putting in lots of late nights and drinking lots of Red Bull really paid off. You'll find the site really simple to navigate, and you will find some changes too. In the Customer Viewing area, you will need only one password and you will no longer be asked to pay for your orders online. You can still place orders but you will need to contact us by phone to complete your transaction.

This week I am looking forward to shooting at the beautiful Tomich Orchards in Orangevale. The orchard is on 16 acres and has a fruit stand. It is a family owned orchard and was established in 1911. It is located just down the street from our home. It is such a great place for portraits and I am very grateful that they allow me shoot there upon occasion. They have eye popping fall color until mid November.
If you want to feed your family the freshest fruit and all locally grown you should check them out. They have fresh fruit for sale all year round!!
On the 27th of October I will be at Starlight Starbright in Folsom, we are taking Halloween Portraits from 10:00 to 5:00. If you would like an appointment, you can make it through them. Their number 983-9977.
Which brings me to the most exciting news for Christmas!! For many years we did Santa portraits at the studio. Our Santa (aka Ed Tanner) needed a much earned break. He has been greatly missed by so many children and families. I was so pleased a few weeks ago when he popped into the studio for a quick visit and told me he would love to be Santa for a day this year!
So those of you who have missed our beloved Santa, be sure to call Starlight Starbright for your appointment on November 16. Our current Santa(and also very beloved) will be on hand on November 17.
Calender Kidz last sessions for the year is November 6 through the 10th. The first two days are indoors and the set is sooo coool. Picture yourself holding a frame all decorated with ornaments and ribbon, everything inside the frame is color, everything outside the frame is black and white. The design lends itself to so many different looks from one person to about 10. Your Christmas greeting to your friends and family will be truly one of a kind. Calender Kidz sessions are $95.00 and include 1 8x10, 2 5x7s and 8 wallets. We offer slim line cards starting at $37.00 for 25. We also have a beautiful selection of higher end cards.
